Hi Del

The configuration of VSS via the Windows BA Client is done:

Here the dsm.opt:

TCPSERVERADDRESS XX.XXX.XX.XX

TCPCLIENTADDRESS XX.XXX.XX.XX

nodename exchsrvA

PASSWORDACCESS GENERATE

SCHEDMODE PROMPTED

SCHEDLOGR 5 D

ERRORLOGR 5 D

DOMAIN "\\exchsrva\c$"

DOMAIN "\\exchsrva\r$"

su yes

quiet

EXCLUDE "?:\...\*"

exclude.dir c:\adsm.sys

exclude.dir "?:\recycler\...\*"

exclude "c:\System volume information\...\* "

ENABLELANFREE YES

Lanfreecommmethod tcpip

lanfreetcpserveraddress XX.XXX.XX.XX

lanfreetcpport 1502

SNAPSHOTPROVIDERFS VSS

SNAPSHOTCACHESIZE 2

resourceutilization 10

MANAGEDSERVICES WEBCLIENT SCHEDULE

In the TDP gui here the VSS configuration: Local DSMAGENT Node name: exchsrva
 (as in the dsm.opt)

I will check the link you suggest

Regards Robert

When running Data Protection for Exchange with Exchange Server 2010, it uses
VSS.

When VSS is used, it is the Windows BA Client that actually performs the data
transfer.

Did you configure the Windows BA Client correctly to perform LANFree?

Also, if you are trying to perform the LANFRee through a non-standard
management class assignment, you may be running into APAR IC69348.

Thanks,
