I'm asking these questions for a friend.

(Environment is TSM 5.5 server on Linux x86_64, with EMC EDL, and 50GB
tapes..)

If a VTL is setup to emulate a 3584, will TSM have problems if the volume
count in the library is higher than a real 3584 can hold? (More than 4096
volumes for example.)

(I've heard rumors of a Diligent based VTL with 16K tapes in it.)

Does anyone know offhand the maximum number of volumes a single object
(aggregate) can span?

Thanks,
[RC]
