Now I'm doubting myself.
The manual shows you how to do it, so I guess that's good enough.
Disregard my previous comment.

 I could  have sworn i read about this on the official IBM TSM rss feed.
There was some random problem and under the solution field, there was a
statement like "multiple TSM instances on TSM6.x is unsupported and must
be put into separate LPARs"

do you have any references? I think that almost any larger TSM shop runs
multiple instances on a single OS image (LPAR, VM, box) to reduce cost. I
have done so with TSM 6.1 and 6.2 during the beta programs without any
problems, and have never encountered any document stating that this is
either not supported or not recommended...
