Richard,

Unfortunately, it doesn't work when TDPO runs as a separate client.  What I'm 
finding odd is that encryption doesn't show up in TDPOCONF.  Compression does.

In general, a straightforward query for this is was scheduled, per APAR 
IC62229.  In the meantime, there is the technique presented in Technote 
1303197.  I can't speak to how either will work with backups based upon the TSM 
API, though, given the incompatibilities with standard B/A.
