Mario,
Not sure if this is related, but if you are doing a scripted install, I have 
seen problems (specifically at tdp 5.5.2.0) where the scripted install appears 
to work correctly, but these type of errors pop up when you try to run a 
backup.  the cause is 3 prereqs that the scripted install does not check or 
install.  If you run the install/upgrade manually, the prereqs will be 
displayed and you can choose to have them installed for you.  After that 
everything will work.
BTW, my SQLServer engineer swears that these prereqs are in place prior to my 
install, but for whatever reason the tdp install doesn't recognize them until 
it "installs" them itself.

This error usually comes when there is an issue with pre-reqs install. Did you 
try repair on TDP?

The tdpsqlc query tsm command connnects to the TSM Server without errors.

I´ve already searched the Microsoft website and instaleld the Microsoft SQL 
Server 2008 Management Objects package.....but the error remains.....
