Been there......done that.........supposed to be fixed in 6.1.1.1 which is 
target for availability, today (still not there as of last check 1-hour 
ago)

This is the only choice I am aware of:

     delete volhist todate=today type=dbb force=yes

Unfortunately, it will delete ALL DBBackups.

I have a test server with  TSM 6.1.1.0 (Linux Centos). It did run fine for 
a short while, but then suddenly all database backup tapes started to get 
the date 11/30/2047 00:00:00.  This causes the "delete volhist type=dbb 
todate=-3" to fail since 2047 isn't passed (yet).

 

There is a flash on this problem.

The flash isn't very informative.

 

My question is how do I remove the database backup tapes.  Right now the 
server is down because the log went full when all available tapes got 
stuck with "2047" status.  I guess I can get some extra log at get the 
server to start, but it will soon run out of log again if I can't get the 
db backups going.
