Thanks much. I saw that "client limitations" technote that recommended
upgrading to Java 1.5, but that was to resolve a problem with the web
client, and my web client is working fine. It's the GUI client (which hath
become Java in 6.1) that is broken.
I'm even more confused now - I dug around, and in the program files/baclient
directory, there is now an IBM JRE50 directory for "Java 2, Version 5", and
add/remove programs agrees that has been installed, so the GUI should have
whatever it needs for its Java runtime environment - I think it installed
the JRE as part of the client install.
Frankly, I was expecting Java problems with this new client. I even brought
it up in one of the Business Partner calls - but I was really really hoping
I was wrong....
