Chapter 5 where the TSM Library Manager and TSM Library Client stuff is set
up is explained and exampled (can I use that as a verb?) very clearly and
concisely. Another great Redbook on this is "Get More Out Of Your SAN with
Tivoli Storage Manager"

is your friend. And, of course, the IBM TSM Admin Guide has some pretty
definitive stuff in it

Hope that helps - it may look pretty complex, but actually it's quite
straightforward to implement (as long as you can keep strict tabs on your
tape device names/paths - a common source of pain in shared environments).

Hi,
Here is some steps you need to do. I maybe forgot one or two steps but this
is the basic.

Setup the SAN so all your TSM Servers have access to the Tape Library.
Setup the library on your Library Manager server with Def Libr, Def Dr, Def
Path, Def devc
Setup server-2-server communcation
On the front-end server setup Def Libr, Def Devc
On the Libr Manager Setup the Path for the Front-End server.

Good day everyone,

Does anyone have any experience sharing a single library with multiple
TSM servers?

We purchased a Spectralogic T950 with LTO4 drives and the capacity of
the library is enormous.

And our amount of data is equally enormous, but certainly exceeds a
single TSM DB.

All backup data is from remote sites.



At a minimum what will I need to successfully use multiple AIX TSM
instances to utilize a single library ?
