No, you will have to migrate. I've had to go through this a few times,
because I didn't like the precise name of the devclass.
I rationalized it in my mind by convincing myself that I was also
verifying the data while migrating.
Depending on how much data you are talking about. It might be worth it to
just keep the old name.

Thanks Shawn. after I deleting the devclass, is the a way to update the
pool to get it to use a specific devclass? I tried in ICS and I couldn't
do it.

You can't rename it, but you don't need to. You can just define a new one
with the same settings
