Hi *SM-ers!
Could someone help me explain this to one of my customers?
An AIX client shows just one backup available on the TSM server which
was taken a long time ago:

dsmc q backup /oracle/T02/sapdata2/el31hd_2/
Tivoli Storage Manager
Command Line Backup/Archive Client Interface - Version 5, Release 1,
Level 6.0
(C) Copyright IBM Corporation 1990, 2003 All Rights Reserved.
Node Name: SPLU0044
Session established with server LBU1: AIX-RS/6000
Server Version 5, Release 3, Level 4.0
Server date/time: 10/23/08 13:02:55 Last access: 10/23/08 13:02:48
Size Backup Date Mgmt Class A/I File
---- ----------- ---------- --- ----
83,894,272 B 09/05/08 23:47:48 DEFAULT A
/oracle/T02/sapdata2/el31hd_2/el31hd.data2

Note the backup date 09/05/08. Now, when we check the file on the node
itself is shows:

-rw-r----- 1 orat02 dba 83894272 Oct 21 06:11
/oracle/T02/sapdata2/el31hd_2/el31hd.data2

So the file has changed and the schedule log shows it has been backed up
by TSM:

Incremental backup of volume '/oracle/T02/sapdata2'

Successful incremental backup of '/oracle/T02/sapdata2'

So why does TSM still show one old backup?

select * from backups where node_name='SPLU0044' and
ll_name='el31hd.data2'

      NODE_NAME: SPLU0044
 FILESPACE_NAME: /oracle/T02/sapdata2
   FILESPACE_ID: 19
          STATE: ACTIVE_VERSION
           TYPE: FILE
        HL_NAME: /el31hd_2/
        LL_NAME: el31hd.data2
      OBJECT_ID: 1286420863

DEACTIVATE_DATE:

Thank you very much for your help in advance!!!
Kind regards,
Eric van Loon
