Hi
TSM Server v5.3.3.1
TSM Client 5.3.4.0
Running on AIX v5.3.3.1

I have a client backing up a filesystem and periodically, it fails with the
below messages:

ANS1809W A session with the TSM server has been disconnected. An attempt
will be made to reestablish the connection.
A Reconnection attempt will be made in 00:00:00 ... successful

ANS1809W A session with the TSM server has been disconnected. An attempt

ANS1809W A session with the TSM server has been disconnected. An attempt
will be made to reestablish the connection.
A Reconnection attempt will be made in 00:00:00 ... successful
ANS1228E Sending of object '/<file-system-name>' failed.
ANS8010E An attempt to backup or archive a file has exceed the maximum
number of retries.
ANS1802E Incremental backup of '/var/spool/mail' finished with 1 failure

The maximum number of retries is set to 4. That's fine.

The data is written to a pool that has copy serialization set to DYNAMIC,
meaning that TSM accepts the first attempt to back up or
archive an object, regardless of any changes made during backup or archive.

I know the ANS1809W message indicates that the idletimeout value is low. We
have it set to 60, so will increase to 180 and monitor.

However, I am confused by the ANS8010E message exceeding the maximum number
of retries. Does'nt DYNAMIC only try it once?

Hopefully someone could shed some light please...

Jeff
