Hello Storage Folk,

I can't seem to find any documentation or anyone else reporting this files
being created in the log directories.

16/07/2008 14:09 3,303 dsmerror.log
16/07/2008 14:10 31,912 dsmsched.log
16/07/2008 14:10 16,350 dsmwebcl.log
16/06/2008 21:56 22 s2i4
30/06/2008 21:41 22 s2ig
20/06/2008 21:58 22 s2io
10/07/2008 01:21 22 s2j4
14/07/2008 01:19 22 s2j8
22/06/2008 21:18 22 s2jc
18/06/2008 21:50 22 s2k0
16/07/2008 01:31 22 s2kk
15/07/2008 01:42 22 s2l0

We've all seen the change in the way the scheduler updates the log files (seems
to write to temp file before appending to the actual dsmsched.log file itself)
but my customer is complaining that this machine is falling over in the middle
of the night, and I need to disprove TSM as being a cause. I can't figure out
why these files are lying around here - having checked their contents they
contain messages like:

EXECUTE PROMPTED 1116

And

EXECUTE PROMPTED 1179

What are they? MS return codes?

Anyone seen this kind of behaviour in the past?

Cheers,
Matthew
