With that being said, What is every one else doing
Do they accept this and live with the extra backups
when security changes are made to large folders at the root,
or is it a bettter option to be real specific for folder
access.

If 'SKIPNTP' is used and a secure folder is restored what
is the practice to put the security back and how does one
know what security was there.

Do folks use external tools to dump the security permissions
separately.

Ugh! My current headache!

'SKIPNTP' is the word you're looking for. It's documented in the manual
for Windows clients, both as a configuration file option as a command
option.

Is there a way to stop backup of files if only the windows security
changes
or is that inherent in TSM
