You said: "The node is already defined and assigned to a domain that backs up

I guess you meant "The node is already defined and assigned to a domain that
backs up to disk and is then migrated to TAPE"

To push the data straight through to tape you could disable the primary
diskpool with 'upd stgpool <diskpool> access=reado'

That will force all backups to this pool to the 'Next Pool', which should be
your tapepool.

Don't forget to update the storage pool to READW to re-enable
full-functionality.

Hope that helps.

I know that this is a probably a simple question.

I am wanting to run a manual backup and put it directly on tape .

The node is already defined and assigned to a domain that backs up to
disk and is then migrated to disk.

Is there a way to do a backup straight to tape without changing the
domain and MC of the node?
