If your link is truly 1 MByte/sec, this transfer will take over four days. If
1 Mbit/sec, it will take over one month. Plus, there is a good chance that the
data will have at least one error in it, requiring an equally lengthy
"Reconcile" process.
If this is a one time situation, and you have the time, you can probably make
this work. Sending tapes is probably a better and more sure option.

Subject: [ADSM-L] Server-Server Communication and remote vault
Dear All,
Greetings !
Running TSM 5.2.3 (will upgrade shortly) and file server on Windows 2003
platform on all locations.
The problem:
1- We want our 350GB File data to replicate in other city over WAN link of 1MB.
2- Management do not want to purchase other software for replication.
Solution in my mind:
1- Backup as usual with Tivoli.
2- Make server to server connection with Tivoli Server in other city
3- Send data across to that server for remote vault
4- Restore from this remote vault to file server in that city.
How workable this would be?
Kind Regards,
Sadat
