I've been told they get it from IBM. The problem I have with that is IBM can't
even tell ME what they think I'm supposed to have. Not to mention if you go
through certain avenues to get your licenses IBM will NEVER know about them.

So, I have heard a lot lately about auditors coming in.

But, how do THEY get all this info?

Has anyone found a way to get the information for the "Number of
Processor Cores" and "Core Type" for your Windows servers? We have a
few hundred servers, almost all HP DL3xx variety, but we haven't found
any automated way to get this information.

Thanks,

We're in the midst of a D&T audit of IBM licenses and believe me, it
makes me more than nuts at how many hours need to be put in just to
figure it out!!! I'm not even going to let someone else tell me how many
licenses I have in use when they can't even supply answers to basic
questions.
