TSM 5.4 has a "Data Shredding" feature which should satisfy.

Subject: [ADSM-L] Tape Erasure

From searching the archives, it seems that TSM does not have a tape
erasure ability, but must be done outside of TSM. I understand TSM, and
that there is little to no need to erase a tape, but of course,
management doesn't always understand or believe that. Has anyone solved
this problem, made it an automatic process when a tape is scratched?
Thanks for any input.
