Hi all,

We are running into an issue with several of our AIX servers. Every night
when the client schedule suppose to be running, some of the client servers
incremental backup is "missed" or fails because of:

11/16/2006 02:00:22 ANR2716E Schedule prompter was not able to contact
client PRDATMA using type 1 (10.200.209.11 1503). (SESSION: 82)

I have checked all the obvious:

1. dsmc sched is running.
2. There are no apparent network problems.

It seems to me that the process: dsmc sched just hangs. Once I kill it and
re-start it, the backup runs fine.
I have requested to the network team to open port 1501 and they did open but
when I issue “telnet localhost 1501” looks like the port is not active. How
to know the schedule is listening to which port?

These are my levels: Server: Windows 2003 Server, TSM 5.3.2.0
                                        Client: AIX 5.3.0, TSM Client
5.3.2.0

Below is the dsm.sys, I have add up “tcpclientport”

SErvername TSM-213-18_server1

COMMMethod TCPip

TCPPort 1500

tcpclientport 1501

TCPServeraddress 10.200.213.18

tcpclientaddress 10.200.209.11

Nodename PRDATMA

passwordaccess generate

schedmode prompted

enablelanfree yes

lanfreecommmethod tcpip

lanfreetcpserveraddress 10.200.209.11

lanfreetcpport 1502

Anyone has any ideas of what could be wrong?

Thanks,

Regards,
