We bought enough disk to handle our onsite pool. I am currently
having my backups go directly to disk. The problem I am having, is
that TSM seems to select volumes based on sort order. What ends up
happening is that it selects volumes on the same hdisk, until those
are exhausted. This gives me very poor performance. I tried a
"kludgy" way of moving the volumes around, by updating volume ranges
to readonly, then updating them all back to readwrite and doint it
again. How are people managing their predefined volumes? Thanks for
any insight into this problem.

Running TSM 5.3.2.3 server on AIX 5.2.4.5. Predefined 2GB volumes on
EMC Clarion disk.
