Hello,

That's just it. We just did a full of the filesystem the previous weekend
on 12/25. We had maintenance, so it was cancelled on 1/2/2005 and then we
should've received differentials after that point in time. We had the TOC
fill up so on Monday night we couldn't get a differential completed, but I
would've thought that last nights backup should've been a differential.
Especially since it was sent as "mode=differential". Am I just not seeing
something here? Or maybe misunderstanding the concept? Thanks again!

The greatest possibility is per the manual:

"If you choose a differential backup, and a full backup is not found,
a full backup is performed."

There are further words on this in the doc APAR IC42526.
