Not sure about Windows configuration, but on Solaris I have path defined to a
drive for library communication and then one for each drive configuration.
The one for the library configuration will used one of the drives defined as
the "Control Path".

DEFINE PATH WSALEM2 3584LIB1 SRCTYPE=SERVER "DESTTYPE=LIBRARY"
DEVICE=/dev/rmt/2sm
c ONLINE=YES
DEFINE PATH WSALEM2 RMT1 SRCTYPE=SERVER "DESTTYPE=DRIVE" LIBRARY=3584LIB1
DEVICE=/
dev/rmt/1st ONLINE=YES

I am not familiar with LTO drives, but you should be able to find information
from the driver info.

Shouldn't have to define serial number. This is picked automatically after you
define a path to one or more of control paths in a fabric environment (if
used). For UNIX control paths are defined as "2smc" along with 2st for example.

(Solaris) DEFINE LIBRARY 3584LIB1 LIBTYPE=SCSI SHARED=YES Serial=(picked up
automatically and added)
(Solaris) DEFINE PATH WSALEM2 3584LIB1 SRCTYPE=SERVER DESTTYPE=LIBRARY
DEVICE=/dev/rmt/2smc ONLINE=YES

Or if you really want to get the serial number, use the touch screen on the
front of the library or use IP address if already assigned after plugging it
into a browser.

TSM version?
OS and version?
