Hi Mark!
Actually, the vacuum in a 3590 drive isn't used for pulling in the
cartridges, it's used for pulling the tape against the head.

We have a 3494 tape library. The tech told me that was the problem,,,he
replaced the part and it works fine..

I gotta ask: what kind of tape library uses a vacuum to pull the
cartridges into the drives?
