Not if there really aren't files on the tape.
Give it a try - worst that can happen is TSM issues a message to check
in the tape, which you can cancel with a "cancel req ##".

Thought I had to physically have the tape onsite in
the library to run an audit volume.  Doesn't it mount
the tape?
