HiI all.

After looking at TSM 5.3, it seems a tidy new feature is the ability to
use a Storage Agent as a 'proxy' to tsm.

You can now perform a LAN based backup to a storage agent, which can
then assign drives and write to tape.. This
leads me to believe, assuming you dont use much in the way of disk
storage pools, you could create a few TSM
storage-agent-only nodes with fast network connectivity, and distribute
the load of clients to these agents, each of which
has lan-free access to the library.

The network link between clients and the single 'main' TSM would no
longer be the bottleneck..

Now, if you were talking about using a disk (FILE devclass) storage
pool, it gets more complicated, but
I was just wondering if that is a feasible use of that feature?
