Micahael,

It sounds to me like that during the upgrade the TDP Oracle soft links
were corrupted. Please verify that the following exist:

        /usr/lib/libobk64.a ->
/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin64/libobk64.a

                and/or

        $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libobk.a ->
/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin64/libobk64.a

If the above does not help, you could as a last ditch effort, reinstall
TDP Oracle to see if that helps. Otherwise, I would suggest calling IBM
support and opening a problem ticket.

TDP for Oracle Failes after AIX 5.1 ->Aix 5.3 upgrade






Hi to all,

After a aix 5.1 upgrade to aix 5.3 our tdp for oracle cant't backup
anymore.

The testmachine have installed api-client for 32- and 64-bit databases.

Before upgrade Aix 5.1 kernel modus are 32-bit.
After upgrade the kernel modus are 64-bit.

Now rman can't load the SBT_TAPE device. See error below.
I have deinstalled all tsm-client packetges and have a new
installation for a tsm-client 5.2.3.4 for 64-bit
and tdp oracle version 5.2.0.0 bit

The problem exist furthermore.

We see no dsierror.log, tdpoerror.log or anything


The error in the script is:

RMAN-03002: failure of backup command at 05/02/2005 09:27:33
ORA-19554: error allocating device, device type: SBT_TAPE, device name:
ORA-27211: Failed to load Media Management Library
Additional information: 2
