Larry,

Have you tried connecting the TSM Server with the Data Protection
for SQL command-line interface? For example:

     TDPSQLC QUERY TSM

and if necessary.... use the "/TSMPassword=tsmpassword" option.
For example:

     TDPSQLC QUERY TSM /TSMPassword=tsmpassword
