Bill,

For not compromising security, you should do following :

- Ask your firewall admin to open port 1501 (or any other) for this node
from intranet to dmz
- Update your node definition on TSM server : you should provide it's
TCP address (-HLAddress param ) and port number (1501 or
other)(-LLAddress param) also update SESSIONINITiation to "serveronly"
- node scheduling mode should be prompted (the server initiates backup).
- update tcpclientadress in client's dsm.sys to 1501 (or whatever you'd
like, must match with LLAdress given on server)

You're done !

Take a look at Backup-Archive Clients Installation and User's Guide (ref
GC32-0788-03) and look for "firewall" for extended information !

Hope this helped ....
Cheers.

Hi All,

I have been asked to backup a couple of Windows boxes which are behind
a firewall.

I need some advise & details as to how to go about it, without
comprising security.

Environment;-

TSM Server 5.2.2.0 running on Windows Server 2003 Backup/Archive client
5.2.3.1

Thanks

Bill
