I agree, this is confusing. Let me see if I can list the requirements here:

        AIX 5.2, 32-bit  - devices.common.IBM.fc.hba-api  5.2.0.30 or higher
        AIX 5.2 64-bit   -  devices.common.IBM.fc.hba-api > 5.2.0.30 (ML4
or higher)

        AIX 5.3 32-bit  -  devices.common.IBM.fc.hba-api 5.3.0.0 (base level)
        AIX 5.3 64-bit  -  devices.common.IBM.fc.hba-api 5.3.0.10

   Also, in answer to your question regarding AIX 5.2 level for TSM
5.3,  you must be at release level 52f, which is the same as maintenance
level 3.

Also, Just to be sure what maintenance level does TSM 5.3
require for Aix 5.2. I believe it's ML2 we are at ML 4 so
I assume we are ok and no apar is needed.
