Looking for help to exclude the following directory from our remote
servers.

Tried this to no avail.

Exclude.dir ?:\DFSroot
Exclude.dir \\fso01\d$\dfsroot\
Exclude ?:\DFSroot\*
Exclude.dir  "?:\dfsroot"
