we have done similar updates in the last 4 months. Concerning the
server part, we did it the other way around:
Step 1:
Upgrade TSM from 4.1.4 to 5.1.X (don't know the exact patchlevel).
TSM server 5.1 runs fine on AIX 4.3.3 as far as i remember

Step 2:
Upgrade AIX from 4.3.3 to 5.1
Do not forget to apply the current maintenance level.
