I am not sure if this is what you are after but you can get the element number 
by running the lbtest.exe utility.

The steps are:

1) Start lbtest.exe from dos window
2) Press 1, for Manual Test
3) Press 1: for Set device special file
4) Enter the libraries device name (eg lb1.x.x.x found in the Device Driver 
section of the TSM Management Console)
5) Press 6: to Open the device
6) Press 8: to Return element count
7) Press 9: to Return All library inventory

You'll then find out the corresponding Element number for each drive

When finished:

8) Press 7: to Close the library
9) Press 99: to return to main menu
10) Press 9: to Exit lbtest
