2 places I look are in the TSM client dsm.opt file RESOURCEUTILIZATION xxx
(xxx = a number) and on the TSM server side Client Nodes---Maximum Mount
Points allowed. Between these 2 I know how many sessions will open in a
backup and restore.

We had an MS-SQL server crash on us.

While we are waiting on the hardware fix, we are trying to restore the SQL
server databases to another SQL server.

So far, all attempts have failed.

The server we are trying to restore to keeps trying to open up dozens of
simultaneous sessions, exceeding the TSM server max (I raised the
maxsessions from 40 to 60 and it tries to max out 60).

All I keep getting is:

10/5/2004 10:35:24 AM ANR0403I Session 3269 ended for node
ADMNT30.ADM.VCU.EDU (TDP MSSQLV2 NT).
10/5/2004 10:35:24 AM ANR0403I Session 3271 ended for node
ADMNT30.ADM.VCU.EDU (TDP MSSQLV2 NT).

<snippage>

10/5/2004 10:35:25 AM ANR0403I Session 3382 ended for node
ADMNT30.ADM.VCU.EDU (TDP MSSQLV2 NT).

10/5/2004 10:35:24 AM ANR0429W Session 3387 for node ADMNT30.ADM.VCU.EDU
(TDP MSSQLV2 NT) refused - maximum server sessions (60) exceeded.

The TSM server is 5.1.8 on z/OS.

The TSM client is 5.1.1.5 (on both the original and restoring server).

The TDPSQL is the latest, 5.2.x, I think !

We have done this kind of restores in the past, with no issues.

The SQL guy even tried both SQL-2000 and SQL7 servers.

 Any clues ?
