TSA (which is the API that allows backup applications to talk to
NetWare) is indicating some sort of communication problem.

First, check your NetWare error logs. Make the appropriate changes, if
any.

Is it the same six files that give you a problem every time you perform
a backup? If so, try offloading those files to a separate volume (or
media such as a CD). Does the problem persist? If it doesn't, you've
found the problem--the files themselves.

If it doesn't, and if you're not at the latest version of TSA600 and
SMDR, get them installed, and try again.

If you are already at latest versions, then I would escalate this to
Novell. You're getting a TSA error, which is a NetWare error. Be sure to
point to relevant portions of the NetWare error log.
