The volume history and devconfig are used to RESTORE the DB in case of a
crash, so DO NOT put them in the same location as the DB!
(Or make multiple copies with at least one of them residing on a different
disk).

The log and DB should not be on the same volume, either, as the log is also
used as part of a DB recovery.

Most people try to put the storage pools on different volumes from the DB
and log for performance reasons.

Hello All!

While trying to set up a new TSM environment on AIX 5.2 servers, instead of
the mainframe, I was wondering if there is a standard location where the
file systems for the log, DB and storage pools are located? Also, do you
store the volume history and device configuration in the same location?
And are there any sizing issues for the number of db volumes, log volumes
and storage pool volumes that are used in this environment? I have looked
in the admin guide and quick start guide for AIX, but I didn't see a
standard for this platform. Thanks in advance!!!!
