Mike,
Somewhere to look is at the detailed info for the storage pool you are
trying to backup to.
q stgpool <stgpool_name> f=d
Look at the Maximum Scratch Volumes Allowed field and see what that value
is. If you are pushing this limit with volumes in the stgpool then up it.

I'm trying to run three commands:
backup stg directorypool copypool
backup stg diskpool copypool
backup stg tapepool copypool
I get errors trying to run each command:
ANR1221E BACKUP STGPOOL: Process 58 terminated - insufficient space
in target copy storage pool.
The thing is, I've got 14 scratch tapes in that library unassigned to any
media pool. Almost as if TSM won't grab any of those tapes. Is there
somewhere I can start looking to see why this would happen?
