Hi,

Volumes are attached to a defined library and each library has its own
element range. Duplicate elements will not give you any troubles.

Karel

Hi List,

I have two ADIC Scalar100 tape libraries, called Scalar100 and Scalar101,
both attached to the same TSM Intel NT4 Server... Not ideal, but cheaper
than buying a bigger library.

I am not sure how best to configure the element numbers... does TSM
internally refer to a slot by library/element or just by element? If the
latter, will I have to use a range outside of the prescribed 4096-4156?

I know that the low level addressing is by device id (LB0.0.0.1), but I just
want to ensure that the home_element being duplicated in libvolumes is not
going to cause any problems further down the line (other than my home made
reporting).

Your words of wisdom will be fully appreciated.

Best Regards
