ok, yesterday succesfully migrated from AIX 4.3.3-10 to AIX 5.2.0.-02 and
TSM 5.1.8 to TSM 5.2.2.1 with no issues whatsoever, servers are pSeries 640
with external SSA storage, and tape libraries 3584 model, all connected
through FC switches ,
my suggestions : keep the AIX server to consistent state coz if it is not in
top shape migration will probably fail (ML 10 is a must i think), and
benefits from migrating TSM from 5.1.8 to 5.2.2.1 are great, ... one more
thing keep all your microcode levels on the latest level. thats it ..
see ya all ... and thanks for all information..

would be great to hear. We also recently went through a 3590 to 3592 Media
