>We are installin 10 new IBM 3592 tape drives, to be used primarily as
offsite storage units. I am wondering about the best way to incorporate
these into the system. My thinking was:
Create new Copypool
Backup the Disk Pool to the New Copypool
Shrink the Old Copypool by Ettrition (sp?)
Eventually Copy the Old Copypool Tapes to the New Copypool
Am I missing anything? Is there a better way to do it? Thanks for any
information.<
Once you complete the backup of the primary tape pool (or disk pool if
you don't have a primary tape pool), you can completely delete all volumes in
the old copypool. This is because you'll have a complete copy of your primary
storage pool in both copy pools.
Incidently, there is no way (that I can think of) to copy data from one
copy pool to another copy pool.
