Hi,

Use 2 nodenames (node and node-monthly) associated with 2 different
schedules in same domain but with 2 different mgmtclasses.
Ex. Daily-incr: vere nolimit, verd nolimit, rete 35, reto 35.

Use rete=365 and reto=365 in monthly mgmtclass.

Define 2 schedules, Daily-incr action=incr and Monthly action=selective and
perunit=onetime.

Define an admin schedule to update your monthly schedule to run 1st of
every month.

Select 1 from db where day(current_date)=1
if (rc_ok) goto Is_First
done: exit
Is_First: upd sch Domainname Monthly-Schedulename startdate=today
(Copied from a genius guy on the list..)

I want to implement the following backup definitions:

Create a fullbackup every 1st day of each month

Create an incremental backup every further day of the month

The fullbackup should be stored for 12 month; the incremental backups
only until the next fullbackup is done.

The fullbackups and incremental backups should go to the same storage pool.

How do I do this?

What copy groups, managment classes, etc and schedules do I need to
implement this?

I'm not sure how to implement this to make sure, that the fullbackups
are stored for 12 month and the incremental backups only for 30 days.

I'm using TSM 5.1.6.2 on Solaris 8; the clients use TSM 5.1 (various
levels)

TIA

Bernd
