Re: LAN only for UNIX

Could I perform the backup via LAN without defined rmtX devices? After I ran
cfgmgr -v, I ran lsdev -Cc tape but they didn't show up the list of
available rmtX. How do I do?
I hope to hear from you...
Regards. Juan.

Backup via LAN for me means you do not have any tapes connected to the
TSM
client system. So there might not be any rmtX devices and this ought to
be
normal.

Subject: LAN only for UNIX
Hi all TSM experts.
Well, for me it will be first time to install the TSM
client and TDP for SAP in UNIX environment, so I am unsure about
backup
via LAN. Do anyone know if it is possibility to perform a backup via
LAN
only over AIX environment? How to generate rmtx in the AIX server if
we
will use only backup via LAN ? I am using 4 drives 3584 library.
thank you... Regards.
