Sounds like this was a "new" tape, did you use "label libvol" first?

I just added new scratch tapes to the 3583 library using the following
command "checkin libvolume ltolib search=yes status=scratch
checklabel=barcode". Tapes checkin went OK with no error but I can't
seem to see the new volume in the volume inventory list. Then I try to
define one of the volume to offsite_tapepool and still didn't show up in
the volume inventory list however it showed up when I used q vol command
with the volume status empty rather than scratch or private.
Can someone please explain to me why is this happening or give me
direction how to fix this. I have read the TSM Administrator's Guide book
on this topic but couldn't find any solutions for my problems.
Please Help!!!!
