Hi Ken,

You can't make an Archive from a diskpool.
Archive are made over the NET. But you can export the Node data from your spare
TSM Server to the TSM Server at your HQ. If you want to save data for "Achive"
but don't want to make it over the NET you can make a backupset.

I did not receive an answer for this the first time I sent it 2 days ago
.

Has anyone had experience in this with making a node archive from the
first full-backup in a primary diskpool?

TSM 5.1.6.3 W2K server
TSM client 5.1.5.15

We have a remote NT4 server client that we have take a spare W2K TSM
server to physically to make the first backup, as we are not sure its WAN
connection bandwidth is sufficient for this first backup..

I have made its first Backup (which is a full backup) into a diskpool.

I have also configured the client for compression and subfile backup.

My question is:

When we get this spare TSM server back to HQ, can I now make an archive of
the client from the backup in the diskpool?

If so, what steps are needed?

TIA.
