The device type for your drives should be 'ECARTRIDGE', like the device
class, and not 'GENERICTAPE'. Normally, when you define the path with
the appropriate device name (e.g. /dev/mt0), TSM assigns the correct
device type to the drive automatically.

Can you send the output of 'q path f=d' ?
