Hi Mario,

You could possibly use the same node name for TDP and for normal TSM
client, we do it in our shop. We already faced this kind of password
problem, and the easyest way we found, was to delete any password stored
on the node, and thereafter to redefine them.
To do this you should :
1) delete anything found in/etc/security/adsm (passwords are stored
there)
2) make sure you defined a node name on TSM server, having a password
(two names and 2 passwords if willing to use different names for TDP and
BA client)
3) use tdpipswd (as root user) to register your node, providing the
previously defined password.
1st Note : if using a unique node name for both TDP and BA client, you
should'nt have to enter a password for BA client.
2nd note : if using a unique node name for both TDP and BA client, you
can also enter the password using dsmc interface(only for a new node),
do "dsmc q fi" for exemple, and you'll be asked for the password.

Hope this helped ;-)
Cheers.

Arnaud

Subject: TDP for Informix

Hi list,

I have to put the TDP for Informix to work on a AIX 4.3.3 machine
connected to a W2K TSM Server 5.1.5.

So far I have installed at the AIX machine the TDP for Informix, the API
and the BAClient. I tried to run the tdpipswd program to generate a
password but I get an error saying that the user or the password are
incorrect:

***************************************************************
* TDP for Informix Backup *
* Password file initialization program *
*>> this must be run by the ROOT user if updating the value <<*
***************************************************************
Enter your current password:
Enter your new password:
Enter your new password again:
*** Server signon failed: ANS1353E (RC53) Session rejected: Unknown or
incorrect ID entered

Also, I am a little confused about the nodename. Should the nodename be
different for the BAC and the TDP ?

Any help is appreciated.

Mario
