Hi there,

I found the answer to my problem ... from the latest patch README ....

The Media Labeling wizard of the TSM Management Console for Windows does not
support the labeling of tapes in non-IBM LTO devices. The TSM LABEL
LIBVOLUME
command should be used to label tapes in such devices.

TSM 5.2 on W2K
Tape library ATL PowerStor L500 with a single DLT8000 drive

I can label the tapes and checkin the tapes no problem
q libvol shows all the checked in volumes
BUT!? I have problem when I start migration from disk to tape

 11:01:37   ANR1000I Migration process 2 started for storage pool DISKPOOL.
 11:01:38   ANR8326I 001: Mount DLT volume SCRTCH R/W in drive MT5.0.0.2
(MT5.0.0.2) of library DLTLIB1 within 60 minutes.
 11:01:42   ANR8328I 001: DLT volume BAND02 mounted in drive MT5.0.0.2
(MT5.0.0.2).
 11:01:42   ANR1340I Scratch volume BAND02 is now defined in storage pool
DLTPOOL.
 11:01:42   ANR1411W Access mode for volume BAND02 now set to "read-only"
due to write error.
 11:01:47   ANR8360I Volume BAND02 has been deleted from MANUAL library
DLTLIB1.
 11:01:47   ANR1341I Scratch volume BAND02 has been deleted from storage
pool DLTPOOL.
 11:02:05   ANR8468I DLT volume BAND02 dismounted from drive MT5.0.0.2
(MT5.0.0.2) in library DLTLIB1

The tapes are not write protected and they are all new tapes. Please help.
