You didn't mention how many files your TSM client contains, but if it a
file and/or print server, as NetWare boxes often are, the TSM server
does a directory scan prior to any action taking place. If there are a
lot of files, and if the machine is busy as f/p servers often are during
the production day, the scan takes a while. (I've seen upwards of 30
minutes with no discernable actions taken.)
