I believe that this has been resolved by setting:

   SNAPSHOTFSIDLEWAIT 1
   SNAPSHOTFSIDLERETRIES 99

John can confirm if I've misstated something.

The problem was that the volume was sufficiently busy such that the LVSA
did not view the volume as "idle" per the SNAPSHOTFSIDLEWAIT setting (my
original suggestion of "10" didn't help -- don't know what I was thinking)
and the default SNAPSHOTFSIDLERETRIES setting. By reducing the amount of
time needed to view the volume as "idle", the problem went away.

It is also possible that the problem could have been fixed by leaving
SNAPSHOTFSIDLEWAIT alone, but increasing SNAPSHOTFSIDLERETRIES to 99 (the
maximum value).

There are no "right" and "wrong" values for these settings, so some
experimentation may be required to determine which settings work best in
any given environment or system.

Andrew:
Thank you for the response, I have tried this as well as the other cache
option
settings and I always get the same results.
Here is the error I get

Any Idea's, I dont see these error messages in the latest online documents
for the 5.2.0 client either.

OFS support has nothing to do with specific file types, .pst or otherwise.

Try increasing the SNAPSHOTFSIDLEWAIT setting. For example:

   snapshotfsidlewait 10

Subject: Open File Support on 5.2.0 Request help

I am using the latest win2k client version 5.2.0.1 and trying to get open
file support to work.
I have included it in the install and used the setup wizard to help
configure it.
After the 2 reboots, I attempt to backup a Outlook PST file that the user
has open.

I continue to get errors from the GUI interface and the client command
line.

I have included the following lines in the dsm.opt file

Include.FS c: fileleveltype=dynamic
Include.FS D: fileleveltype=snapshot snapshotcachelocation=c:\

Does anyone have any ideas on why this would not work, or does this
support
not include PST files.

Thank You
