Marc,

Data Protection for Domino works at the
database level. That means the entire database
and all its contents are backed up and restored.
As long as the private folder is stored in the
database, it will be backed up and restored.

There are situations where private folder are
not stored in the database, but in the desktop.
If the type of folder is
    "Shared, desktop private on first use"
or
    "Shared, private on first use"
then it could be stored in the desktop file and
not in the database.
