SCO is trying to be David beating Goliat but might become the mice smashed
under the elephant. For sure they've got some support from M$ but we will
see where the story ends only after we reach that point.
This is an expected move. More than a month ago I predicted to my
colleague such an attempt could be made. But how would SCO/Caldera/SCO
react when IBM simply ignores the deadline and whole move.
Of course there is a chance IBM lawyers didn'tmade their homework
properly. But I would say - very unlikely.
Short-term - IBM will ignore this as many other blasts from SCO's side.
Long-term - after lengthy research on agreements, licenses, etc. IBM most
likely would file lawsuit against SCO and most probably will try to beat
them to death. SCO is not on a stable ground remembering the results of
AT&T vs. BSD. Filing the suit in their backyard in Utah might give them
some chances but if IBM suceeds on moving the case at Federal level, the
war would be half-won.

I have been reading bits and pieces, but haven't heard anything from IBM
except the boilerplate response to the lawsuit.
