Just simply initiate multiple client sessions with the server and request a
different restore in each...
break your restore requests down by either volumes, high level directories
within volumes, etc...
so say you are doing a restore of some G: drive that has 4 high level
directories of BOB JOHN SAL & JEN
open up 4 dsmc windows and request
      restore -subdir=yes G:\BOB\*
      restore -subdir=yes G:\JOHN\*
      restore -subdir=yes G:\SAL\*
      restore -subdir=yes G:\JEN\*
that will be faster than just doing a "restore -subdir=yes G:\*" if all
the data doesn't reside on a same tape, if multiple tape drives are
avaiable, if the node is allowed multiple mount points, etc...

Hi,

Should be. TSM 5.1 client and server needed. Maxnummp for client on the
server should be greater then 1 and resourceutil on the client max to 10.
Helps if the data is stored on multiple volumes and/or in multiple storage
pools.

Gr,

Karel

Onderwerp: multiple restore sessions?

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering if it is possible to do multiple restore sessions on a
tsm os/390 server at the 5.1.6.2 level? The client would be an nt client
at the 5.1.6.0 level. And if it is possible, where is the documentation to
support this and how is it done? I can't seem to find the setup for
this...

Thanks in advance!
